We were delighted to run another another singing workshop on the beach as part of Porty Pride on 6th June 2026. Many thanks to Jon Davey for these lovely photos.
for the joy of singing and to build community
We were delighted to be asked to sing at the Greater Spotted Ceilidh in Portobello Town Hall to raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians
Here is a video of our moving collaboration with Nada Shawa, Palestinian dancer and poet, and Gica Loening, fiddle player. The song is the traditional Palestinian lullaby Yumma Mwhale el Hawa. A re-worked version of this song by Together for Palestine was a strong contender for the Xmas No. 1 spot in December 2025. Money from purchases of the single went to Choose Love, a charity supporting Palestinian-led organisations Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service.
We sang Yumma Mwhale el Hawa, a Palestinian lullaby at the launch of the Each Child a Light exhibition at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh. This is a particpatory project to create quilts made up of embroidered squares, each of which commemorates a child killed in Gaza. It was an incredibly moving and heart-wrenching event. So important that we allow ourselves to feel the grief and don’t turn away.
